It seems as though there's a trend be set by several tech companies who are displaying their devices on the show room floor of CES 2016, each company are boasting claims to be the "World's First" at something. Asus is following right along that trend by creating the world's first 15.6-inch monitor with exclusive USB-C connector, the MB169C+ .
I'm actually real impressed with this device, its perfect for the road trips when you need extra screen real estate to go along with your ultra-portable laptop. The ASUS MB169C+ is very lightweight at just 1.76 pounds and it only measures 8mm ( 8.5mm to be exact) at its thickest point.
The 15.6-inch monitor is basically an upgrade from the MB168B+ which includes the new USB-C connector, which once again is the worlds first from ASUS. Other noted features are a USB 3.0 port and has a screen resolution that measures 1920 x 1080. The MB169C+ is slightly thicker than its predecessor due to the fact ASUS has ditched the TN panel in favor of the IPS panel, which is a positive because you'll have much improve viewing angles.
With USB-C being included in the new MB169C+, users should easily connect to the likes of Google Chromebook Pixel and other USB-C equipped laptops such as the newly CES unveiled ThinkPads and the new generation MacBook's.
