Topic: high fidelity gaming monitors
For the past few months, Competition between NVIDIA and AMD have become rather fierce with both companies releasing their new flagship graphics card, GeForce RTX 30 series and AMD Radeon RX 6800 series. If you manage to come across any graphics cards produced by both these companies ( good luck trying), then you're want to upgrade the monitor to complement your high-end system. Luckily, AOC has you covered by releasing their new Agon AG493UCX gaming monitor.
The Agon AG493UCX is a colossal monitor coming in at 49-inch, having an ultra-wide curve with a 32:9 aspect ratio, a DQHD resolution measuring at a whopping 5120 x 1440. As stated by AOC, this is like combining two 27-inch QHD monitors into one, side-by-side. Since this is technically a gaming monitor, AOC offers many features that will prove beneficial to gamers, starting with a 120Hz refresh rate, a GtG and MPRT response times listed at 5ms and 1ms. The monitor is AMD FreeSync Premium Pro Certified with a sync range between 48Hz and 144Hz.
The monitor is also VESA Certified DisplayHDR 400 panel, and a brightness level rated at 550 cd/m2; other noted features include 178-degree vertical and horizontal viewing angles and a 1.8-meter radius curvature. AOC claims the following percentage numbers, 121 percent of the sRGB, 90 percent of DCI-P3, and 90 percent of AdobeRGB color spaces.
The Agon AG493UCX also includes a built-in KVM switch, which will allow the monitor to share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers. When it comes to connectivity, there are two HDMI 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, and a USB-C port (DP Alt Mode support). And yes, two five-watt speakers that will likely not be used.
AOC states that the Agon AG493UCX will launch this month with Europe getting first dibs, with a retail price at £899 in the UK. At this moment, there is no information on US availability or price.
