Asus unveils their custom GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card that will include pure copper heatsink
It's quite common to find custom aftermarket graphics cards that use two or more fans over the GPU's; In fact, become an industry standard. So what's different about Asus GeForce RTX 3090 founders Edition? It's using a blower-style cooler in place of the triple fan. Somewhat archaic in comparison to most graphics cards on the market. In fact, this cooling setup is one of a kind on the market.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 founders Edition model features an aluminum alloy heatsink and a hybrid vapor chamber cooler, along with a push-pull fan, which will stabilize GPU core temperature.
The RTX 3090 graphics card will occupy two slots, having just one 80mm fan blowing directly on all the copper heatsink, which runs the entire length of the graphics card. The shroud that covers the card directs air out of the front. A significant advantage in having this kind of cooler is that hot air is continuously exhausted from the GPU right outside the PC case instead of circulating within.
This card's features include a 1,725MHz boost clock in OC mode, slightly up from reference 1,700MHz. There will be a single HDMI 2.1 port and three DisplayPort 1.4 ports.
At this time, Asus haven't provided a market release date or retail price. Once they provide that information I'll post it via social media or on the site. Stay tuned.
