Logitech unveils the Folio keyboard for the 11-inch iPad Pro
It seems we have a keyboard launch by Logitech, specifically the Foli Touch, a new keyboard case for the 11-inch iPad Pro model for both the 2018 and 2020 variants. The cost of the keyboard retails for $160 (Apple’s Magic Keyboard retails for $299), a cheaper alternative to Apple's own Magic Keyboard, having the same Logitech Combo Touch feature in past iPad models.
Interestingly, the case does feature a fold-able keyboard with an aligned row of shortcut keys explicitly made for the iPadOS, which is not present on the Magic Keyboard. The keyboard is backlit, offering users the ability to adjust the brightness based solely on ambient lighting. Other features include a touchpad that supports multi-finger gestures, including swipe, scroll, pinch, and double-tap.
My favorite feature of all is the adjustable kickstand that tilts up to 40-degrees. You can fold keyboard right behind the rear of the iPad in four different modes; interestingly something consumers can't do with the Magic Keyboard. With the iPad, you can connect up to four ways, depending on the angle of the iPad and placement of the keyboard while typing viewing sketching, and writing.
Users can connect to the iPad Pro via Apple's tech, Smart Connector, embedded into the tablet's side. Meaning two devices will automatically pair, without going into iOS settings. Another mind piquing interest is users don't have to charge the Folio separately, drawing power entirely from the iPad.
The Folio Touch availability date is this month (July), and as I stated earlier in this post, it retails for $160, and you can purchase it from Logitech and Apple.
