Nvidia RTX graphics cards are now available for preorder
Now that we all viewed Nvidia's Ampere cards' since unveiled last week, it begs the question of when the flagship GeForce RTX 3080 will land on retail shelves. The official retail launch date, Thursday, September 17th, but consumers can order the graphics card right now.
Two models are available for preorder, which you can purchase both at B&H Photo from the Asus product line and TUF Gaming line. The pricing is relatively expensive, though each model will be overclocked. Asus does not list the specifications on its product-page.
As a point of reference, we will go by the Nvidia core blueprint specification of the 3080 variants, which are 1.44GHz base clock and 1.71GHz boost clock. It will feature 8,704 CUDA cores and 10GB of GDDR6X memory at 19Gbps on a 320-bit bus, yielding 760.3GB/s of memory bandwidth.
Nvidia speculates that the 3080 flagship GPU will be the top choice for consumers, while the 3090, though expensive, will be geared towards the content creators.
The specialized cooling Founders Edition will cost $699. On B&H Photo's listings, costumed models will range from $720 to $905.
