We Have Confirmed Information On Intel's New Gen Alder Lake CPU, Specs, Price, Expected Launch Date

You read the title of this post correctly; we at Tekspecz have gathered new information on Intel's soon-to-be-released 12th Gen processor regarding pricing and specification. Before we even discuss pricing, let's examine the specs.

The new Alder Lake processor will require system builders to purchase an all-new motherboard with a socket being an LGA 1700, spanning from desktop PCs. In addition, the Ultramobile devices will have a 9W to 125W TDP rating, constructed entirely on an Intel 7 process.

*TDP (thermal power design) is the maximum amount of heat generated by a processor*

The new Alder Lake processor will require system builders to purchase an all-new motherboard with the CPU socket now being an LGA 1700, spanning from desktop PCs. In addition, the Ultramobile devices will have a 9W to 125W TDP rating, constructed entirely on an Intel 7 process.

Processors for the desktop will come with eight performance P cores and eight Efficient *E* cores for a total of 16 cores and 24 threads, up to 30 MB of L3 cache on one single silicon.

When it comes to memory, Alder Lake will support either DDR4 or DDR5 (LP4x/LP5, also). In addition, the desktop PC will support x 16 PCIe Gen5 and X4 PCIe Gen 4, mobile systems supporting x12 PCIe Gen 4 and x16 PCIe Gen 3, Thunderbolt 4, and WiFi 6E.

The Hyperthreaded Performance *P* is a new technology from Intel. Combined with the Golden Cove microarchitecture design for low-latency single-threaded performance. On average, there is 19% more IPC than Cypress Cove architecture found in Rocket Lake. There is also the support of AVX-512 and AMX for data centers.

The single-threaded Efficiency *E*, also new from Intel, will come with Gracemont microarchitecture to improve multi-threaded Performance, providing area efficiency and Performance per watt. Four small cores will fit in the same area as Skylake core delivering 80% more in Performance within a threaded operation. A single E core can also provide 40% more performance than a single-threaded Skylake core.

About that price and expected launch date?

Intel's new Alder Lake processor expected market released in Fall 2021. According to published reports, the pricing of Intel's next Gen processor goes as follows; Core i9 12900K/KF $705 K), $674 *KF*, Core i9-11900K $549, Core i7 12700K/ KF $495 K), $464 *KF,* Core i7 11700K $409, finally, we have the Core i5 12600K /KF, $343 (K), $312 *KF*, Core i5 11600K $272.

Right now, Ryzen processors are the preferred choice with most system builders. Curious to see benchmark comparisons to the current generation Ryzen CPUs. Will Intel when back over the masses, with Adler Lake? We shall see.
