Asus has recently unveiled their new ROG Phone 5 smartphone, and I must say, the company once again did not disappoint regarding hardware and features. Some will say the Asus ROG Phone 5 is features overkill. But we'll leave the opinions to the tech reviewers because the ROG Phone 5 has impeccable hardware. The sole purpose of this particular smartphone is to achieve optimal mobile gaming performance.

The Chipset and Processor
The Asus ROG Phone 5 is an Android flagship smartphone. So it should not come as a surprise that it's rocking the latest Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 5nm chipset. The Octa-core processor features (1x2. 84 GHz Kryo 680 and 3x2.42 GHz Kryo 680 and 4 x 1.80 GHz Kyro 680. Visual graphics made possible by the Adreno 660 GPU.
On the Memory and Storage front
The Asus ROG Phone 5 has an astounding 16GB of internal RAM and 256GB of storage ( minus the expansion card slot). With its high RAM capacity and multiple core processing, the avid mobile gamer should see immense performance gains during gameplay.
The main camera
Gaming smartphones aren't primarily known for having impressive cameras. But in the case of the Asus ROG Phone 5, the camera specs are quite impressive. There are three main cameras, featuring 64MP, f/1.8, 26mm wide lens, 13MP f/2.4 ultrawide, and 5MP f/2.0 macro. Even more impressive, this gaming smartphone can capture video in 8K at 30fps, 4K at 30/ 60/ 120fps with gyro-EIS ( electronic image stabilization).
Switching the smartphone over to the front, you'll find a single 24MP selfie camera with an f2.5, 27mm wide-angle lens.

Then there’s the battery
The Li-Po battery within the ROG Phone 5 is immense. It measures up to 6000 mAh. Fast charging at 65W can charge the device to 70% power level under 30 mins, 100% under 52 mins. The smartphone also features Reverse charging and Quick charge.
The super high refresh rate display
The ROG Phone 5 smartphone has an AMOLED display with a remarkably high refresh rate at 144 Hz, peaking out at 1200 nits. Pixel resolution comes in at 2448 x 1080 ( 395 PPI density). To sum it all up, what we have here is possibly one of the best displays on a smartphone in the consumer market.
