Intel unveils the NUC 11 Extreme kit " BEAST Canyon NUC"
Intel has just announced an interesting device; it's the new NUC 11 Extreme kit, better known as Beast Canyon. Though one can marvel at the system's design, it's the internal components that have garnered attention from PC enthusiasts such as myself. It seemingly is a Compute Unit with an integrated motherboard with a CPU and SO-DIMM slot. Intel's latest creation is by far the most significant and powerful NUC to date.
What makes the Beast Canyon NUC 11 Extreme so powerful, you ask? It will sport the latest Tiger Lake-H series processors starting with the Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9, with 8-cores / 16 threads. The NUC, the version see in this image, can support an entire full-length graphics card; but there is no information on exact required measurements. There maybe be limited space for a full-size power supply unit. But according to reports, the PSU will be integrated into Beast Canyon NUC, making the external AC adapter obsolete.
The NUC 11 Extreme will have an 8-liter footprint, 60-percent bigger than the Ghost Canyon, occupying just 4.9 liters. Regarding the case design, judging by the images, it appears to have a matte black color scheme, with Intel's signature trademark RGB illuminated logo placed across the front panel.
This announcement from Intel is straight out of the Computex 2021 trade show. As of yet, there are no reports on specific launch dates or retail prices.
