We Have Zephyrus Duo SE 15 Model Listed on NewEgg That Has a Ryzen 0 5980HX Zen 3 CPU
It's official; the ROG Zephyrus Duo SE 15 thus far will be the only laptop on the market that will have the Ryzen 9 5980HX processor; discovered on New Egg's website. Oddly, that laptop is currently listed as being out of stock.
Uniquely, the Ryzen 9 5980HX processor is unlocked, with a high TDP, at 45-watt instead of the standard 35 watts found on the Ryzen 5980HS. The Ryzen 5980HX also has a much higher base clock frequency of 3.3GHz. The same at eight cored and 16-threads with a maximum boost frequency of 4.8GHz. It also supports up to LPDRR4-4266 memory.
Overall, the ROG Zephyrus Duo SE 15 features a 15.6 inch HD display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It's an IPS display that has a max refresh rate of 300MHz. Additionally, the laptop features an actual secondary display, better known as the "ROG ScreenPad Plus." It's a 14-inch touch display mounted just above the keyboard. The second display can be used to expand screen real estate in supported games and multitasking Windows 10.
According to ASUS, the graphics chip within the laptop is a GeForce RTX 3060, but upon ordering the laptop, users can configure it up to a GeForce RTX 3080 with a 120Hz 4K display. Regarding memory and storage, the laptop will have a 16GB DDR4-3200, max 32GB as an option, with 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD.
Cooling is made possible by a ROG intelligent Cooling thermal system with Active Aerodynamic System Plus and Thermal Grizzly Liquid Metal thermal compound. In addition, the keyboard features a ROG Aura Sync. Standard on any top-tier gaming laptop is Wi-Fi6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
Currently, there is no retail price tag since the laptop isn't listed on NewEgg. An update to follow.
