According to rumored reports Apple will launch a M1X Mac Mini this Fall
Last Fall, Apple officially deviated its computers away from Intel processors by replacing them with the M chips. The first to make the transition were the Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, and Air. Then months later, the new colorful iMacs. Regarding overall performance, thus far M1 chip is met with high praises.
Now, according to Bloomberg, reported by Mark Gurman, Apple is set to launch a new "high end" M1X Mac Mini this Fall. The current Mac Mini's with the M1 chip is considered to be mid-level options. The high-end variants still have the 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor with 64GB of RAM.
According to the latest rumors, the new M1X Mac Mini will have more powerful SoCs, entirely replacing Intel processors while adding more external connective ports.
Interestingly, there are already renders of the M1X Mac Mini design posted on the web this past Spring. The renders display a thinner design than the current iteration with a MagSafe power connector, the same power connector found on the latest iMac. In addition, there is no longer a power brick.
Reportedly, the M1X Mac Mini will offer dual USB 3.1(Type-A)ports, four Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI2. 1, and GbE. The M1X SoC will have added CPU cores from 8 to 32 cores. And notably, M1X Mac Mini will support up to 64GB of RAM.
Since this post is based on rumors, the pending upcoming M1X Mac Mini does not have a set retail price. But let's gauge the current Mac Mini's price, which starts at $699, while the Intel variants start at $1,099.
