Microsoft is now offering an update that addresses buggy gaming issues
At this moment, Microsoft is offering all Windows 11 users a software update preview that solves gaming performance issues. Before the software update, the company had warned users not to upgrade to the 2022 version 22H2 update, released on October 2nd, 2022, as the company noticed a critical bug within the software.
According to Microsoft, there is performance lag with certain games and apps and noticeable stuttering in the Windows 11 operating system. Microsoft did not list any affected games or apps. However, the company stated, in a quote, "inadvertently enabling GPU performance debugging features not meant to be used by the consumer."
As a precaution, Microsoft had to block users from downloading the Windows 11 2022 Update for systems with potentially affected games and recommended not to proceed with the upgrade. However, as of now, Microsoft has officially unblocked the update with a legitimate fix to the problem. For any users currently running the Windows 11 2022 Update, check the Windows Update notification; you should see this KB5020044 update preview ready for installation.
Ironically, Nvidia also had a driver issue with the latest Windows 11 Update. The company discovered the same stuttering issues along with frame rate drops in September.
The new Windows 11 update includes the usual bug fixes that Microsoft releases monthly. It includes new storage alerts for OneDrive, improvements to Windows Spotlight feature, and much more.
