Let's talk about Apple's new iOS 16. 2 update

I usually don't cover many software updates unless it's of significance. However, apple's latest 16.2 update is significant and deserves some coverage from yours. It carries several exciting features, including the Freeform app, Apple Music Sing, the return of external display support to M1 and M2 iPad Pro tablets, and more.

You're not getting usual security updates or minor bug fixes with iOS 16.2. Instead, the update is loaded with new features and capabilities.

Let's address the interesting new features in this update, starting with Freeform. This app's primary function is collaborating on projects with multiple users while real-time updates are synced for all participants. This app is also helpful for a sketch artist, designing mood boards and brainstorming ideas. The app is available on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS Ventura 13.1.

This is Apple Music Sing

Another standout feature in this update is the highly anticipated Apple Music Sing. Apple Music Sing offers users real-time lyrics that are sung along using the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Other notable features include the ability to adjust the volume of the original singer, real-time lyrics that move in unison with the vocals, background vocal options, and a duet view for tracks with multiple vocalists.

In addition, the update brings expansion to Advanced Data Protection, adding end-to-end encryption to additional data categories.

Other added features are;

-user’s ability to disable wallpaper and notifications for Always On Display

-AirDrop is now restricted to Contacts Only by default

-Crash Detection optimization for iPhone 14

By now, you should be receiving your iOS 16.2 updates. Check for your updates on any current Apple device by going to Settings> General>then Software. Good luck.
