A recent leak tells me Nvidia is about to launch the new RTX GeForce 4070 Ti real soon
Buzzworthy leaks regarding smartphones and PC hardware seem to always occur on Twitter. The latest leak on Twitter drawing buzz indicates that there will be GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card.
The person who shared the leak went by the Twitter handle @kopite7kimi and posted what appears to be specs for GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card. Before this leak, PC enthusiasts were also excited about NVIDIAs highest-end graphics card listed under the RTX 40 series, the 4090 Ti, which is also rumored to be released this year. However, remember that the branded names for Nvidia's next-generation graphics cards are pending based on rampant rumors and leaks circulating around the web.
Let's address this posted tweet from the leaker and break it down. The tweet shows that the graphics card will carry an AD104 processor with sixty active sadder modules, with 7,680 FP32s. In addition, the card will come with 12 GB of GDDR6X memory functional at 21 GBps per pin, offering 504 GB/second memory bandwidth. Reports show that the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti will have a substantial L2 cache at 48MB on the AD104. A significant increase from GA104 4MB L2 cache.
Further examining the tweet, what's eye-raising is that the graphics card requires 400 watts of power on a single GPU., a significant cause for concern, considering most graphics cards on the market wattage recommendations are below 400. For example, the GeForce GTX 3080 Ti graphics card is the most reliable and fastest on the market. However, its power wattage comes to 350 watts. Keep in mind the high wattage is on NVIDIA's Ada GPU manufactured on TSMC 4N process.
In adding more rumors, it is reported that NVIDIA is pushing their top-end Ada component to a 3 GHz clock speed for an entire product line. As I stated in past posts, rumors and leaks are precursors to a big announcement or launch. I expect NVIDIA to announce its next-gen GPU in the coming months. Stay tuned.
