The fix is in: Nvidia Game Ready 531.29 GPU Driver Update Solves The CPU Usage bug

A few weeks ago ( give a take), we reported Nividas driver number 531.18 caused a CPU spike erratically once the user exited games. Well, we are happy to report Nvidia has solved that issue. The company has begun releasing the new ' Game Ready' GPU driver, version 531.29 WHQL,

Originally the bug was introduced in Nvidia's previous WHQL driver ( 531.18) driver package; it intended to support RTX Video Super-Resolution and deliver optimized for the gaming titles supporting DLSS 3 technology, which includes Atomic Heart and The Finals. In addition, it supposedly fixed freezing issues in Fora Horizon 4 and addressed unstable issues in Call of Duty Modern Warfare2.

This particular driver update also caused PC systems to slow to a crawl amid operation, overworking the CPU at 10 percent or higher after closing out games. Affected users even reported stuttering in Windows and blue screen errors.

Along with addressing the core bug issue, the new driver update will also cure stability issues on laptops that particularly have GeForce GTX 10/MX250/350 series GPUs and problems in Adobe applications.

You should start seeing notification updates for driver WHQL version 531.29, ready for installation. If you don't see a notification, head to Nvidia's website and manually install the new driver. Good luck.
