Review: The Anker 313 45w charger checks all the boxes

The Anker 313 45W charger was launched at Samsung's Unpacking event, which took place last month and garnered interest from me mainly because of its fast charging capabilities. It's an ultra-high-speed charger with 45W support, featuring Super Fast Charging 2.0. I purchased the Anker 313 45W charger ( out of necessity), and it's been in my possession for a few weeks. So does this charger function as advertised? Find out in this review.

It’s super fast, charging 2.0

Anker states that its 313 45w charger will offer optimal results with Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones. But in my opinion, this is a marketing ploy, considering both Anker and Samsung collaboratively launched their devices at the same Unpack  Event.  Anker, in their listed specification, stated users can fully charge the Galaxy s23 smartphone in under an hour.  Does it, though?  The answer to that question is yes. For my test, I used a Galaxy s22 Ultra, currently my daily driver. Even though it's a last-gen model, the specs and features are similar. I'm here to say that the device produced impressive results. Even while using my smartphone during the charging cycle, it fully charged from 40 percent power availability in less than 45 mins

I want to add the Anker 313 45W charger is not just the official charger for Galaxy s23 series smartphones; it's compatible with most Samsung, iOS devices, and even laptops that have a USB Type C port. I used the  Anker 313 to charge my iPad Air 5 (which supports fast charging), and  I got similar positive results. With just 30 percent power availability, the tablet charged in under 50 mins.

Overall, the fast charging feature is quite impressive.

Its robust efficiency

For it to be so small and compact, the  Anker 313 45W charger packs a lot of power. Yet at the same time, it is highly efficient. This is partly due to improved heat dissipation and infused Gallium Nitride( gallium nitride is a direct bandgap semiconductor that is well suited for high power transistors capable of operating at high temperatures), which keeps the charger from downgrading power. I'm mostly impressed with how the charger expends a significant amount of energy during prolonged usage.

The portable, sturdy design

The Anker 313 45W charger cube-shaped design is 30-percent smaller than the original 45W USB-C charger. It has a foldable plug that gives the charger its compact appearance. I can drop the Anker 313 into any pocket or knapsack without compromising space. What stands out most about the design is its nicely textured matte black exterior, which doesn't succumb to oily fingerprints and scratches. The charger does have a solid, sturdy plastic outer shell that can withstand sudden drops to hard surfaces. Like the klutz that I am, several times, I accidentally dropped the charger on solid ground. I'm here to say the charger thus far has held up without any damage.

Overall…

So yes, the Anker 313 45w charger checks the boxes for its fast charging capabilities and power efficiency and has an excellent compact design. But then again, you shouldn't be surprised; this is Anker we're talking about here. They manufacture some of the best charging accessories around.

Readers interested in buying the Anker 313 45w charger, it retails for just $29.99 on Amazon.
