Hardware Breakdown Presents: Yoga Pro 9i laptop

I've gone on the record and stated Levono manufactures some of the most high-quality premium laptops on the market. They have a bevy of laptops that fall into the flagship category. However, Lenovo is adding another premium laptop to its product line, an all-new Yogi Pro 9i.

Lenovo's target consumer demographic is the consummate professionals. But based on the hardware specifications, you can make a case for the Yoga Pro 9i laptop is made for gaming and content creation. So, of course, this ultra-portable machine sparked my interest and is profiled in this month's Hardware Breakdown.

Let's delve deep into this laptop and examine its integral part components.

( Noted: as always, when we profile devices on the Hardware Breakdown feature, we always examine the higher-end options)

The  Processor

I stated earlier in the post the Yoga Pro 9i hardware is potent enough to handle gaming and content creation. It has an Intel Core i9 3905H embedded into this laptop. This powerful 13th Gen processor ( code name Raptor Lake) has 14 cores, and 20 threads, with blazing fast processor frequency that measures 4.10GHz, with a 5.40 GHz turbo max boost. However, the feature that stands out the most is its 24MB Intel Smart Cache.

Developed by Intel, Smart Cache has level 2 or 3 caching methods for multiple execution cores. What's unique about this particular technology is it shares the actual cache memory between the roots of a multi-core processor.

The paired 100W GPU

You get an equally powerful GPU inside the Yoga 9i. It has the 100W version of the RTX 4000 series GPU. Your options are the RTX 4050, RTX 4060, and RTX 4070.

New generation RAM

The Yoga 9i has the new generation DDR5 memory, which is now slowly becoming the standard memory module in most systems today. In addition, you can get up to 64GB of LPDDR5 RAM as an option.

Let's talk about that display.

Regarding the display, the Yoga 9i comes in 14-inch and 16-inch variants, respectively. Both LED displays have a 3K  resolution and 165Hz refresh rate, with a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits.

It’s worth noting the Yogi 9i is expected to make its upcoming global market launch in late June, pending price starting at $2,500.
