Patch and Repair: Apple releases a update to fix the broken macOS Sonoma 14.4
If you're one of several Mac users who experienced a barrage of issues with macOS version 14.4, you'll be glad to know Apple has just released version 14.4. 1. This update addresses several critical issues with third-party applications and accessories and fixes macOS Sonoma security issues.
According to Apple notes, the critical issues with macOS Sonoma 14.1 are the following:
Mac users immediately noticed problems after updating to macOS 14.4. Within the first couple of days were reports of malfunctioning USBs and issues with Java and iLok audio software DRM devices. Some users also reported inoperable print drivers and deleted file revisions of iCloud Drive. It’s worth noting these particular issues aren't mentioned in Apple’s released notes.
The security patches address " click-less" exploits that allow remote code execution after the system displays a compromised image. In this 14.4. 1 update, Apple includes MacOS Ventura 13.6.6 security patch, which addresses vulnerabilities in Mac computers that haven't upgraded to Sonoma.
Other Apple updates include minor fixes to iOS, iPadOS, and VisonOS, which address the same security vulnerabilities as MacBook and iMac systems. The software update is now available for download.
