An unboxing video reveals PS5 DualSense controller cross platform support
Many tech reviewers have already gotten their new PS 5 gaming console ahead of the Nov 12th launch date, but the reviews are not published yet due to Sony's strict embargo. But we're already getting a look at the new DualSense wireless controller—an well-known YouTuber who goes by the name Austin Evans unboxed a PS5 DualSense controller on his channel.
Now Austin Evans could not offer his full review on the PS5 unit for reasons I mentioned in the previous paragraph. But the imposed embargo did not thwart him from unboxing the DualSense controller and connect it with several alternative devices. He tried using the DualSense controller with the PS4 Pro, but that attempt failed due to the console not recognizing the wireless connection. He even plugged the controller via a wired connection, but it was nonfunctional with the PlayStation 4 Pro console.
By using Bluetooth connectivity, Evan successfully connected to a Google Pixel 5 smartphone and played games via stream using Microsoft's xCloud service, making this officially a cross-platform device. On the PC front, the DualSense controller via cable connection functioned well with the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go
As you know, the DualSense controller will succeed the DualShock 4, offering new functions and features. The most standout feature being the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, along with a whole new design.
Sony's PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition set to launch on November 12th, retail priced at $499 and $399.
