Shadow ROCK 3 Is Really a Nice CPU Cooler

Excellent aesthetics is not what makes a quality CPU cooler. Although you do have some coolers on the market that have a unique construction, it's not entirely just about the design, the importance of functionality should be the primary focus—the CPU coolers innate ability to stabilize the processor under heavy use. Be Quiet, no, I'm not telling you readers to shut up; it is the name of a reputable company that produces quality coolers, PC cases, and power supply units: their latest creation. Shadow Rock 3, has me filled with intrigue.

First off, let's talk about how the Shadow Rock 3 CPU cooler includes a screwdriver aiding users to install the cooler and mounting kit on the motherboard easily. Something I've not seen before with any hardware, potential game-changer, to say to least.

The added accessories are OK, but it's all about the guts of it all—the main specs and features. For starters, the Shadow Rock 3 overall dimensions minus the mounting material measures at length, width, and height, 4.7-inch x 5.1-inch x 6.4 inches. It has a 190-watt TDP. Meaning, the cooler can manage heat at max temps, thanks in part to an HDT ( heat-pipe direct touch) technology, where the heat from the CPU is absorbed directly by five 6 mm nickel-plated copper heat pipes. The cooler is compatible with all the latest Intel and AMD sockets.

The most significant component on a cooler is the fan. On the Shadow Rock 3, you have one Shadow Wings 2, 120mm OWN high-speed fan. Interestingly, the overall noise level dB(A) is at 50/ 75/ 100%, which operates at only 24.4 dB(A) even at max speeds of 1,600 rpm. Translation, when the processor is under high use, even at increased fan speeds, noise is minimal.

The Shadow ROCK 3 CPU cooler is now available for purchase on Amazon and retails for $109. I plan on purchasing this CPU cooler so expect a future review. Stay tuned.
