Confirmed By Nintendo a 160,000 Accounts Have Been Compromised

As if now, Nintendo will start disabling user's ability to log in to Nintendo Account via Nintendo Network ID ( NNID for short); this, after several hacking attempts have compromised 160,000 accounts. Nintendo states in quote login IDs and passwords " obtained illegally by some means other than our service, "have been used since the beginning of April to gain access to any accounts.

Hacks were able to access nicknames, date of birth, country, and email addresses during the breach, some account even experience fraudulent purchases. Nintendo strongly recommends all users enable two-factor authentication. I'm inclined to agree with Nintendo. This sort of practice should be applied to all of your accounts, especially if you partake in any online purchases.

Currently, all affected accounts passwords are in the process of being reset, and Nintendo is also disabling the ability to log into the primary Nintendo Account through an NNID. Older NNIDs mainly used for 3DS and Wii U devices.

Users whose accounts have been affected will get an email notification, and the Nintendo is issuing a warning. If you, by any chance, use the same password for an NNID and Nintendo account, "your balance and registered credit card /PayPal may illegally be used at My Nintendo Store or Nintendo eShop.

If you see unauthorized transactions, review your purchase history, and immediately contact the company.
