I really like the design of Pixel Buds 2, here's why
Admittedly I don't have Google's Pixel Buds 2, at least not yet. So my opinion on the earbuds is based entirely on an onlooker's perspective. With that said, I'm going out on a limb and give big props to the overall design of Google's latest earbuds audio iteration, the 2nd Gen Pixel Buds 2. Here’s why I like the overall design.
First off, observe the Pixel Buds 2 compact charging case. Its unvarying semi-oval shape has a nice smooth texture matching an egg. You can tell the industrial designers at Google put a greater emphasis on the case design, using what appears to be high-quality materials.
Examine the attention to detail with the case's USB Type-C connector, openly crafted following a subtle contour of the bottom edge. Usually hidden, an LED power indicator illuminates right through the plastic, adding more flair to the case overall design. There are actual magnets that hold the Pixel Buds 2 directly against the Pogo pins. Which should ensure the buds stay in place once the case is open. I've viewed numerous videos from tech reviewers turn the case upside and shake, yet the buds stay in place.
Surprisingly some seem to loathe the design of the actual earbuds themselves. But I respectively beg to differ. The Pixel Buds 2 has a flat side with the same eggshell material, and the earbuds overall are very compact. Oddly you have the silicone "horn" that may be unappealing to many. But I think it serves a valuable purpose keeping the earbuds seated in the ears.
According to published reports, there are significant improvements in the Pixel Buds 2 sound quality. But it's all about the design, and I'm very impressed.
