The RTX 3060 50 Percent Price Hike Right Before Launch

I recently published an article on how Nvidia has produced GPUs explicitly for mining under the GeForce RTX 3060 product line and is scheduled to launch in Q1. The company's move is supposed to increase supply-chain for PC enthusiasts looking to get their hands on reasonably priced graphics cards. The retail price for the RTX 3060 will be $300. Nvidia even implemented a feature within its driver that will diminish hash rates by 50% if it detects any crypto mining.

Interestingly, before launch, we're already seeing immense price jumps from serval AIB partner models posted on unknown outlets. Courtesy of Corteks reported and revealed the RTX 3060 has a 50% price hike for each model. The retail pricing for select RTX 3060 AIB partner graphics cards goes as follows, MSI Gaming X Toro $515.99, MSI VentusX2 $484.99, Zotac $499, Asus Strix $499.99, and the Asus TUF $489.99.

Call it for what it is, but this is price gouging at its worst on what was supposed to be a budget option graphics card. More than likely, the RTX 3060, like all Ampere and RDNA2, will be a challenge trying to purchase these particular graphics cards due to high consumer demand.

It makes economic sense to hold off on pre-ordering AIB partner graphics; wait a couple of months or longer. By then, we should see affordable retail prices.
