Alienware Gaming Laptops Will Now Feature Cherry MX Mechanical Keyboards
Alienware makes some of the best gaming laptops on the market. Their m15 R4 and m17 R4 offer everything I look for in a gaming laptop with its impeccable hardware specification and compact, sleek design. So how can it get any better? Add Cherry MX mechanical keyboards to the mix. If your not familiar with who Cherry is, they're a company that manufactures very high-quality mechanical switches. Dare I say they set an industry standard.
Cherry has developed an MX-Ultra Low-Profile switch, which measures only 3.5mm thick. Compared to 18.5mm on the original MX switch and 11.9mm on the low-profile MX switch. The switch itself has an exciting design mimicking car doors on a Lamborghini, which you swing upward. The spring mechanism is structurally solid with a two-piece keycap, a "gold-based" cross-point contact system, which should give any user smooth, stable keystrokes.
The Cherry MX Ultra low-profile keyboard will be made available as a $150 option on the m15, $180 on the m17. Consumers can now purchase the Cherry MX edition Alienware m15 and m17 laptops, retail priced from $1,799 and $1,899.
