Razer's Project Hazel COVID-19 Mask Officially Goes Into Production
Back in CES 2021, Razer unveiled this cool-looking concept COVID-19 N95 mask, dubbed project Hazel. It features an active disc-type ventilator, Chroma RGB lighting, and a voice projection. What's so appealing about this particular mask it's transparent, allowing for lip-reading and viewing facial cues when engaging in conversation. Well, the mask is no longer a product concept. It's now going into production.
According to Razer's CEO, Liang Tan, in an interview with Yahoo News, " We were thinking, this is a concept project and is this going to be relevant when vaccinations and everything had been rolled out." " We are going to proceed in making it a reality and ship the smart mask."
Other noted features with Razer's smart mask are detachable and rechargeable ventilators with a glossy outer shell that is waterproof and scratch-resistant constructed out of recycled plastic. The ventilators act as voice amplifiers, made possible by embedded microphones inside so that theirs no muffled sound during a conversation.
The RGB lighting allows two ventilators to Illuminate and will even shine automatically on the mouth in darkened areas.
The timing of the mask going into production is rather odd, seeing that vaccines are starting to roll out all over the US. As of now, Razer has not confirmed retail pricing or timetable on a launch date.
