Lets Talk About Dell's New $200 Webcam

Dell has just launched their new 4K webcam, which you can purchase right now from their website. Webcams today still serves a purpose since many are still working from home due to the ongoing pandemic. Many are using webcams that output median video quality at best, with 1080p, maxed resolution.

With the UltraSharp webcam, there is no need to attach an action cam or a DSLR to your system for impeccable video quality. The webcam is more than capable of recording 4K footage at 30 frames per second. The UltraSharp webcam can capture subjects in low-light conditions, thanks in part to Sony's STARVIS CMOS 8.3 megapixel sensor.

As an option, users can choose between a 90-degree shot showing more of the background, move slightly closer at 78-degrees, 65-degree narrow-angle for close-ups field of view.

The webcam features a 5X digital zoom and auto framing keeping subjects in the center frame. When it comes to driver support, none is needed. The webcam can function without the need for Windows 10 or macOS drivers.

Block viewing hackers with a Privacy shutter cap, which you snap right over the lens, then magically attach the cover in the back of the webcam. The webcam is certified for Microsoft Team and Zoom. Ideal for virtual meetings and conferences. Also, there is full support for Windows Hello authentication.

The UltraSharp webcam is potentially a great device with some impressive features. But there is a significant caveat. There is no built-in microphone, which could impact consumer demand. You'll need to use a separate mic for voice audio.

As stated earlier in the post, the UltraSharp webcam is now readily available for purchase, retailing for $200.
