$2,099 Will get you this motherboard, the MSI MEG Z690 Godlike
You read the title correctly; the MSI MEG Z690 Godlike motherboard asking price is $2,099. However, by no means is this a standard motherboard. On the contrary, it is saturated with a bevy of features, bells, and whistles.
The exorbitant price is somewhat justified. The motherboard includes a bundled package with an MSI MEG Core Liquids s360 all-in-one liquid cooler and a 32GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 RAM. Like I've stated earlier, the motherboard is loaded with features.
Though the motherboard is crammed with many features, focus your attention on the base built around Intel's Z600 chipset for Alder Lake with an LGA 1700 socket and four DDR5 DIMM slots.
Here's a quote from MSI.
“Godlike's number one goal for the end-users is evident, designed for the best performance and experience enabled by truly remarkable systems. Whether it’s record-breaking overclocking, ultra-customization of ARGB lighting with touch control LCD dashboard, or simply the desire to build the most powerful system imaginable, the MEG Z690 Godlike stands unrivaled at the pinnacle of all the Z690 motherboard capabilities."
Regarding the design, a good majority of the motherboard is covered in a dark aluminum heatsink that features a triangular grid pattern and has very distinctive MSI design language elements. For example, check out the bright dragon nebula engraving. Underneath the heatsink sits dual cross heating pipes that connect two MSO heatsinks, while a magnetic double-sided M. 2 shields the SSD thermals.
By far, the most standout feature on this motherboard is an actual 3.5-inch touchscreen IPS display. I don't think there's anything like this kind on the market, an industry first. However, the mounted display is not just for show; you can monitor hardware and displays debugged codes. In addition, the display is touch support, which can fine-tune complex PC settings and activate Windows functions.
It is worth noting this is an enormous motherboard constructed around the Extended ATX (E-ATX) form factor; it will not fit inside a standard ATX case. What's needed is a big case if you somehow plan on purchasing this motherboard.
This motherboard is solely for system builders who push the boundaries of overclocking. It exhibits an 8-layer PCB with 2-ounce copper thickness, a power system with a direct 20+2 phase with a 105A smart power stage, Titanium Choke II, and dual CPU power connectors.
