Sony Unveil Their New PlayStation VR2 Design
It's hard to believe it's been five whole years since Sony introduced the PSVR to consumers, which ironically can still be used today with the PS5. Well, I think it's time for an upgrade, you think? It seems like that upgrade will happen Sony has officially unveiled PlayStation VR2.
Firstly, let’s address the design. There is no significant change from the last Gen model, though it does have the same black and white color scheme as the PlayStation 5. But there are a few new enhancing features that include a lens adjustment dial, a new vent design, and a slight weight reduction. And much like the PlayStation 5, there is the Dual Sense controller. The PS VR2 has its signature small textured PlayStation icons on the front and rear bands on the headset.
The new PS VR2 headset supports haptic feedback, eye tracking, 4K HDR, 90/120Hz frame rates, foveated rendering, and a field of view of 110 degrees, and also connects to PS5 via a single USB-C cable.
The new orb-shaped design offers finger touch detection, adaptive triggers, analog sticks, buttons, and haptic feedback for the controllers replacing the previous-gen wands.
As of now, Sony has not announced the date of availability or price.
