Samsung will soon launch the 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 SSD

We have confirmation that Samsung is set to launch the 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 storage drive, with details on the price and speed. The drive will use a 3-bit TLC flash, developed in-house, paired with a new proprietary controller. Samsung states a 55% performance boost with reads and writes compared to the 980 Pro; it will also have 1,400K and 1,550K IOPS. Regarding sequential operation, the Samsung 990 Pro will offer insanely fast read/write speeds, 7,450 MB/s, and 6.900MB/s, respectively. An impressive performance boost.

Even with the increased bandwidth, the Samsung 990 will use 50% less power than the last gen models. The storage drive is set to be released in October. Actual prices and capacities are the following; $179 for 1TB and $309 for 2TB. The 4TB option won't be available until next. If you're one of those builders who want illuminating hardware, there will be models with RGB heatsinks. As of now, there is no listed price.
