Saumsung unveils The ViewFinity S9 5K monitor taking on Apple's Studio display

We have our first significant reveal from CES 2023 that has gained traction, and it's from Samsung as they have shown off two new monitors, ViewFinity S9 and Smart Monitor M8 27-inch. Both pro creative monitors will hold solid competition to Apple's own Studio Display.

Out of the two monitors from Samsung, the ViewFinity S9 is the most interesting regarding specs and features. It's the first ever 5K display produced by the company. Its sleek designed display panel has a whopping 5120 x 2880 resolution, a built-in color calibration, with a 99% DCI-P3 color gamut. In addition, there are USB-C and Thunderbolt connectivity ports and HDMI and DisplayPort. These ports can charge an entire laptop at 96 watts of power.

There are two standout features in this ViewPoint S9 monitor that gives a slight edge over Apple's Studio display. Firstly, the monitor comes with a webcam you can attach as needed for video conference calls. Samsung stated that it had provided software for the webcam that would automatically zoom and track the subject. The other feature is Samsung's Tizen TV OS built into the monitor. As a result, you can access your favorite streaming apps without being connected to any external device.
