More CES 2023 Reveals: Asus Flow X13, Z13, and X16 laptops
Thus far, the main attraction at CES 2023 has been the number of feature-rich displays revealed at the trade show. For the record, I'm not at CES 2023 show this year, so I'm getting my source material from the Internet. With that said, Asus has gained my attention by revealing three impressive laptops with hardware updates to the ROG Flow X13, Z13, and X16.
First up, we have the Asus ROG Flow 13. It has AMD Ryzen Zen 4 processor, an GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 8GB GPU, and Dynamic Boost technology. The all-new display features a first from Asus, the Nebula technology, an IPS level HDR panel that includes a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and max brightness that measures 500 nits. Now it has a fast refresh, but there is no specific number. This laptop has two available screen options: a 13.4-inch QHD +panel 165Hz, and a 13.4-inch FHD+ panel 120Hz/ ms. Since this is a touchscreen display, it's covered with scratch resistance Corning Glass DXC, which also prevents glaring.
Asus has an Intel variant that's a 13-inch convertible, the ROG Z13. It is very similar to Microsoft Surface, which has a detachable keyboard. It's embedded with up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i9 13900H processor. The rest of the hardware specs are the same as AMD version Flow X13. The only difference is the Intel version gives you only one display option; a 13. 4-inch QHD+ panel with 165Hz /3ms.
The rest of the specs for the X13 and Z13 is pretty much identical and goes as follows; they include up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, a backlit keyboard, stereo speakers, two-way noise cancelation, of course, WiFi 6e and Bluetooth 5.2. In addition, both laptops have various power distributions regarding wattage from the battery, 75Wh battery (AMD) and 56Wh battery (Intel), up to 130W USB-C charging.
Finally, we have the ROG Flow X16, the top-end option from the three laptops, which uses the exact 13th Gen Core i9 H processor and s GeForce RTX 4070 GPU and Dynamic Boost at 120W.
The 16-inch convertible display also features Asus Nebula technology. Interestingly you can configure a smaller mini-LED display panel with an insane brightness level measuring 1,100 nits. The display specs are impressive; the choice options are WQXGA 2560 x 1600 resolution, 240Hz/ ms, featuring G-Sync technology. Like the X13 and Z13, the Flow X16 display is protected by Corning Gorilla glass.
Like the X13, the Flow X16 also comes with a Core i9 H-series processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. What differs from the X13 is there are two USB-C ports and quad speakers, and you get up to 2TB of storage. In addition, the ROG Flow X16 is much larger and features a larger 90Wh battery.
At this moment, Asus has not provided any prices or details on when we can expect a launch date. Stay tuned.
