If you have been following what's happening in the Apple realm,  you know earlier this month, Apple introduced the new M2 series SoC (system on chip)—implementing the hardware into the new MacBook Pro 14 - 16 and Mac Mini. However, the new Mac Mini is something special. And is the ideal desktop for anyone shopping for a new desktop. I think it's the best-value desktop computer on the market and can outperform more extensive systems such as the iMac and Mac Pro.

The $599 Mac Mini has an M2 8-core l and has just 8GB of unified memory and 512GB of storage. But as an option, you can upgrade the memory to 24 GB and  8TB of storage. Interestingly, this model faired well in numerous benchmark tests, posting impressive numbers that best the Mac Pro. Unfortunately, the Mac Pro is a powerful system that uses 2019 hardware that Includes an Intel processor—and still selling for a whopping $6,000.

From what  I viewed on several YouTube videos, the Mac Mini base can handle Final Cut Pro transcoding with ease. However, if you plan on getting Mac Mini and using it solely for content creation involving video editing, you will have to spec out the base model Mac Mini. Upgrading the memory and storage

Apple is rumored to launch Mac Pro in late 2023, including the M2 Ultra SoC. But if you’re not willing to wait, why not settle for the Mac Mini? It’s equipped with potent hardware that can handle any resource-intensive tasks. And importantly, it's a fraction of the cost of the current Mac Pro.
