WhatsApp gets an iOS update adding a picture-in-picture video call feature
WhatsApp is rolling out updates to its iOS variants; new features will include picture-in-picture mode for video calls. The new feature will allow users to multitask with other apps during video calls without interruption.
The new WhatsApp picture-in-picture feature will function similarly to FaceTime mode. However, the video will shrink your video call to a small window that will sit over the top of whatever app you switch to. This will allow users to engage in calls while web surfing the web, reading emails, and playing their favorite mobile games.
Users can access the picture-in-picture feature ( or mode) in the latest iOS WhatsApp by installing update version 23.3.77. However, there is a wait time for the WhatApps update rollout, which is taking place in the coming weeks.
The new update will bundle other features, including support for longer descriptions and subjects for groups, and will introduce personalized avatars using stickers and profile pictures when sending documents. Earlier this month, WhatsApp also launched a significant update that includes a new status feature that lets users share their status with private audiences, react to someone's status with an Emoji, record voice statuses, and more.
