Let's talk about Razer's new Hammerhead HyperSpeed THX earbuds

Razer, the all-things tech manufacturer, has just launched a pair of wireless earbuds that can rival Apple's AirPod Pro or any other earbuds on the market. Razer's Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed earbuds differentiate themselves from the options you have on the market. They're made specifically for gaming that include THX certification, the gold standard in sound quality, hybrid active noise cancellation, and a 2.4GHz wireless dongle to reduce latency while playing games, something you won't achieve with Bluetooth connectivity.

The 2.4GHz USB-C dongle (and a USB-A adapter) is compatible with PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and ASUS ROG Ally.

Razer displayed a graph that compares audio latency to other competitive devices on the market, particularly Apple's AirPods. According to Razer, when the Hammerhead HyperSpeed Pro earbuds are paired with the dongle, it achieves "industry-leading low-latency audio performance" below 40 milliseconds. Razer also claims without the dongle, the earbuds can still achieve high-quality performance, even while playing games.

According to Razer, "Gaming Mode, for an example, doesn't hold back on Bluetooth, ensuring robust performance with latency of just around 60ms. With Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility, the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed ensures fluid connectivity across a multitude of devices", enquote.

The Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed listed specs is pretty impressive. The earbuds have 10mm drivers with a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response. In addition, it also features an adjustable hybrid active noise cancellation. Furthermore, the earbuds have the famed RGB illuminated logo in various colors. Regarding battery life, Razer claims the earbuds can deliver up to 6.4 hours of music playback while the RGB and ANC are disabled, in addition to getting 24 hours of power with the fast charging case. While both the lighting and ANC on of course times decrease, up to 3.5 hours of playback and 14.5 hours with the charging case.

From my experience using wireless earbuds, battery life can vary depending on usage.

The Razer Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed is in stock for $199.99. Pre-ordering is not necessary.
