OnePlus launches its very first tablet the OnePlus Tab, lets talk about it
OnePlus has been manufacturing smartphones since 2014. Back then, they were an upcoming startup competing against established companies, Apple and Google. At the time, the two companies were the only dominant players in the smartphone market. Today, OnePlus has stamped its mark in the market by manufacturing high-quality smartphones at various retail prices annually.
Now OnePlus is entering an unfamiliar territory by launching its very first tablet. I don't know why the company took this long to create a tablet—nonetheless, it makes its market presence with the new OnePlus Pad.
On the software front, several features are left out of the core Android OS. However, the tablet has a sleek, premium metallic design. Surprisingly the OnePlus Tab has decent hardware. The listed specs go as follows; it has 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage. Along with an 11.6-inch 2000 x 2800 display( LCD) with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Regarding the camera, you have 13 MP rear-facing and 8 MP front-facing. However, the battery in the OnePlus Tab, by far, is the most impressive component of this tablet, having a 9510 mAh battery. I don't think a smartphone or tablet on the market has that much battery power, but I could be wrong. Like most tablets, OnePlus provides add-on accessories, including a Bluetooth keyboard case and the One Plus Stylo for $150 and $100, respectively.
OnePlus introduced itself to the tablet market with an impressive Android device with a $479 retail price. If you’re looking to purchase a tablet, no matter the brand, you’re better off buying a 10th-generation iPad, which is $30 less, with a better display and software that optimizes well with the hardware. However, if you’re an Android user looking to stay in its ecosystem, the OnePlus Tab is a cheaper alternative to Samsung Galaxy Tab series tablets.
