Your Google Chrome is about to get a refreshed new look
You read the title right: Google Chrome, the world's most popular web browser, is about to get a new look. The significant update will be based entirely on the Material You design, which will take place in the coming weeks. New features will include updated icons, " focus on legibility," and a new assortment of color palettes that, in a quote from Chrome VP Parisa Tabriz," better compliment your tabs and toolbar."
Below this paragraph, the GIF image gives an early preview of the noticeable changes to the web browser as it has rounded corners near the top of the window.
In addition to changes to the Chrome browser, Google updated the Chrome Web Store, which will have a similar Material Design appearance ( also having rounded corners). You can also view the changes to the Chrome Web store down below.
In addition to the bevy of changes to Chrome, Google is implementing updates to its Safe Browsing tools that will aid users to have a safe browsing experience. The updated browsing tool will avoid websites that potentially can be dangerous. On their end, Google will check these sites against a local list updated every 30-60 minutes. In the coming weeks, Google will check sites against their list of compromised websites in real-time, thwarting users from going to these malicious sites created minutes in advance. According to Tabriz, “By shortening the time between identification and prevention of threat, we expect to see 25 percent improved protection from malware and phishing threats.”
