Let's talk about the MSI GE76 Laptop, it's Powerful and Expensive
The MSI GE76 laptop cost $4,000, expensive, yes. In fact, at that price, you can probably build three gaming systems. But the focus here is not price; it's the laptop itself. It's a beast and potentially the most powerful laptop on the planet. So let's talk about it.
The MSI GE76 is a scaled-down high-end gaming desktop. Its raw power can be attributed to CPU and GPU, top tier components from their respective companies. Firstly, you have Intel's Core i9-12900K, some saying the answer to Apple's M1 Pro processor. However, according to several benchmark tests, the Core i9-12900K bested M1 Pro regarding real-world performance. Inside the processor, there are eight performance cores, eight efficient cores, 16 and 24 threads. Then you have the 16GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. By far the fastest GPU that money can buy.
When it comes to storage and memory, of course, you should expect the MSI GE76 has maxed out capacity. There is a total of 4TB PCIe Gen4 M. 2 SSD, 32GB DDR5-4800.
What impresses me the most about this laptop is the number of external ports, and there is plenty. Starting with a Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen Type-A, Ethernet for Internet connectivity, HDMI, and finally, what should be standard with laptops, there is a single SD card reader.
The design aesthetics of the MSI GE76 is, at best, minimalist using a " titanium blue" color scheme; that's when bright lights hit it from the right angle. As a result, the laptop appears to be black under standard lighting. Adding uniqueness to the overall design is abundant RGB lighting on the keyboard and a large luminescent strip under the wrist rest. The keyboard and light bar can be customized using Steelseries GG software, already pre-installed.
