Let me explain why dust and debris can be the death of your computer system

Yes, I said it, you see, the title of this post. I know it is a bit extreme, but I must communicate this message to all computer owners. Dust and debris can cause a computer system ( gaming consoles included) to deteriorate slowly.

How can dust slowly destroy any system? Do you ask? One word, heat. Dust acts as an insulator. Especially if the intake/ outtake vents are clogged with dust. A dust build-up can also impede the performance of a cooling fan, with rpm speed dropping a couple of digits.

Dust build-up can also cause circulated air not to circulate properly. Trapped heat inside any computer can cause critical components such as the processor, graphics card, and hard drives to overheat, causing severe damage.

Of course, you can partake in several maintenance tasks to prevent the dreaded grotesque dust build-up. All that is needed is compressed air and a soft-bristle brush. Performing monthly tasks can ensure system longevity.
