AOC shows off their new 34-inch Flat ultra wide Gaming monitor
AOC has just unveiled another gaming monitor, the new Argon Pro AG344UXM. This 34-inch IPS panel is fully featured, starting with mini-LED backlighting technology. The brightness level has an insane 1,000 nits, fully capable of displaying true HDR. In addition, there is a 170Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time (Grey to Grey). And of course, what's a gaming monitor without the high resolution, UWQHD 3440 x 1440 respectively.
This AOC 34-inch ultra-wide gaming monitor is dissimilar from most in the market because it's flat, not curved. In addition, it includes a 10-bit color depth with 99 percent DCI-P3 and 100 percent ARGB coverage. Offering high color accuracy and featuring FreeSync support, a pair of built-in 8W speakers, and RGB lighting.
The pinnacle feature of this gaming monitor is Mini-LED, which is now starting to become the primary staple technology with many gaming displays on the market. Compared to LCD backlighting, Mini-LED has local dimming zones delivering significantly better contrast ratios and richer blacks. I still prefer OLED over mini-LED because of its slightly higher contrast. However, mini LED does offer better brightness and HDR performance.
As expected, the Agon AG344UXM has a very high price point. It's currently being listed in the UK for £1,429.99. In American dollars, that's $1,839 US. Once the lands are in the US consumer, I'm sure it won't cost $1,800. Nonetheless, it will still be pricey.
The Agon AG344UXM launch to the US market is expected to take place in the coming weeks. We'll be on it as soon as it happens.
