Cooler Master launches a new GX3 Gold PSU with a special design 12VHPWR power connector
You now have new specialized designs for graphics cards and PSUs that accommodate 12VHPWR power connectors. The latest is Cooler Master, which has launched a new line of PSUs with a durable 12VHPWR 16-pin connector less prone to melting. The connector's new top-down design improves cable safety, a thicker material, and a newly enhanced latching mechanism.
The Cooler Master's GX 3 power supplies have the new connector, including the 650W. 750W, and 850W models. The new connector will come with materials that will be 25% thicker, with more contact springs and 12% high insertion and withdrawal force. In addition, the newly designed cable will have a 90-degree angle lesson cable stress and have new and improved compatibility with larger graphics cards and small-size PC cases. Cooler Master stated that the new cable design would lower temps to about 5 degrees C' and a 45% reduction in impedance change rate.
The new power supplies from Cooler Master will be ideal for PC builders who currently own RTX 40 series graphics cards, seeking a stable and secure 16-pin power connector. For those who don't know, issues with the 12VHPWR connector had severe problems, including melting with RTX 4090 graphics cards, which consumes a great deal of power. The melting is attributed to the connector being so thin.
The new power supplies will have an 80-plus Gold rating, featuring fully modular cabling and Cybernetics Platinum efficiency, capable of reaching Titanium level efficiency under 20% load. The power supply units will have an all-black color scheme design featuring honeycomb ventilation in the front. The unit will feature a single 135mm cooling fan certified for zero RPM function. The GX 3 series will offer three PCIe 6 +2 pin power connectors and the improved 12VHPWR connector.
As of now, there is no confirmed launch date or price. Once I get the full details, I will inform readers via social media.
