GeIL is releasing the world's first DDR memory kit with a RGB fan
An active cooling fan on top RAM
GelL is a company that manufacturers RAM. They are laying claim to producing the world's first DDR5 memory kit with an active cooling fan. The new Evo V DDR5 memory kits come with an industrial heatsink and a pair of minuscule RGB fans placed on the top left and right corners. As told by Gell, this dual-fan cooling system "drastically" dissipates heat, keeping memory chips cool at a stable temperature.
As an option, you have your choice between two colors, titanium gray and glacier white. Both come with miniature fans that are part of the one-piece heat spreader design. There may be issues with fans malfunctioning; replacement may not be possible. With a warranty, you can get a replacement.
The RAM is longer in width than most on the market due to fan placement. But GeIL states that the memory kit should not obstruct airflow from most CPU coolers. In addition, GeIL claims there will be a 45 percent improvement in heat dissipation compared to traditional heatsinks.
DDR5 RAMs can achieve astronomical speeds; they are also embedded with different die-power management integrated circuits (PMIC) and voltage regulation modules, which can cause the RAM to run hot during peak operations. So a cooling fan may be a necessary need.
The planned capacities from GeIL are 32GB (2x16GB) and 64GB (2x32) kits speeds ranging from 4,800MHz to 6,600MHz. The CAS Latency on these kits will be 34 to 40. The voltage range is from 1.10V to 1.35V.
The RAM active cooling kit's expected launch will be in July. It may include DDR5-6600 memory kits, making it one of the fastest RAMs on the market. Currently, there are RAM kits that are even faster, unveiled last Fall by G. Skill 32GB DDR5-6800 Trident Z5. So we now have heat spreaders have fans, a helpful solution to stabilizing temps in RAM kits. Will other manufacturers follow suit? That remains to be seen.
