MSI reveals an all-black custom design GeForce RTX 4060 series graphics cards
We're roughly a week from the official launch of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4060 $299 graphics card. Yet already, we're seeing aftermarket options revealed online.
MSI has revealed four variants of the GeForce RTX 4060: the Gaming X and the Ventus 2X Black. The MSI Gaming X and Ventus 2X RTX 4060 GPUs have a minimalist design that looks dissimilar to RTX 30 series cards.
The MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ventus 2x features an all-black color scheme with a contrasting backplate design. The lower-end variant has a 2475 MHz frequency for the Non-OC and 2505 MHz OC option. There are similar dual-fan configurations, and regarding the length, it's the shortest RTX 4060 GPU, measuring 20cm.
Unlike most MSI graphics cards, the RTX 4060 gaming edition is not saturated with RGB lighting alongside the fan blades. The MSI logo on the GPUs shroud is the only part of the card with RGB lighting. There will be two consumer options, MSI Gaming, and Gaming X, with different clock frequencies. The Gaming variant's default clock frequency will be 2460 MHz, while the Gaming X has a higher clock frequency, at 2595 MHz.
If you're wondering, Nvidia will use an AD107-400-A1 GPU for the GeForce RTX 4060. The GPU Cuda core count is expected to be 3070, with an 8GB GDDR6 memory operating at 17 Gbps memory speeds across a 128-bit bus interface.
The new MSI GeForce RTX 4060 will drop on June 29th with a $299.99 retail price tag.
