Enermax is reputable for manufacturing affordable all-in-one liquid cooling solutions. But lately, consumers have had issues with a few defective coolers; the company voluntarily recalls the faulty devices. The defective models are black and white Liquimax lll ARGB 360 variants and Liquimax lll ARGB 240.
There are no signs of any leaking, which is good news. Leaking liquid solutions can cause irreparable damage to the motherboard. Instead, users did notice a spike in the CPU temperature. In addition, a manufacturing defect can cause the affected models over time to clog.
You usually don't have clogging issues with AIO coolers. However, impurities were mixed inside the radiator during manufacturing, even accumulating inside the pump. MSI recently recalled its MAG CoreLiquid 360R and 240R coolers, which experienced the same blockage issue.
Enermax has stated that a few manufacturers' coolers are affected by the defect. Furthermore, the defective cooler applies to models mainly in the Korean region, none in the US, and other areas worldwide.
Here's the list of coolers that may be defective;
Limax III ARGB 360 Black (the first 4 digits of the serial number are 2012)
Limax III ARGB 360 White (the first four digits of the serial number are 2119)
Limax III ARGB 240 (the first 4 digits of the serial number are 2012)
Cynex will be handling all recalls, a significant distributor out of Korea. They will accept claims for the next 12 months (until April 30, 2023). After that, it will replace defective coolers for free even if there is no clogging issue. In addition, the replacement models come with a 5-year warranty after the exchange, not the time of purchase.
